Ottawa Business Portrait Photography

Business portraits are one of the things I really enjoy. It`s not the tekkie, arty part…I just think it is interesting meeting business people. We shoot quite a few in our Centretown studio on Gladstone, but that extra challenge of going to a
location, while tough on time and equipment is quite a lot of fun…

Portrait of my Dad…1942….2012 / Ottawa Citizen Feature.

I was honored to be asked to scan and restore this photograph of my Dad`s Cameron Highlanders of Canada Regiment.  Today`s Ottawa Citizen featured my OpEd piece on his exploits during WWII….

Nicely done bit by the Ottawa Citizen…

http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/karsh/influence/index.html

Thanks to the Ottawa Citizen for featuring my work in this article. I was inspired by both Malak and Yousuf Karsh in my early years. Two truly great men.
A Karsh original hangs above my desk and I was inspired by the indomitable Malak who I shot beside on many the occassion. I miss them both…

Good luck kid…

I shot this in 1977 at the start of my career as a photojournalist.  One day, I will have to sit down and write about those early days as a freelancer. It was a great experience and I learned quite a lot about shooting on the fly.

Barbara Ann Scott tours my work…

Sad to hear of the passing of Canadian Icon Barbara Ann Scott. This was taken just a few weeks ago as she toured my work at City Hall.  Thanks to my friend JM Carisse for the shot.

I only wish I could have added her portrait to my gallery of great Canadians. She was one elegant, talented lady.

Cover shoot for Ottawa Life.

I love a challenge…
This is a cover shoot for Ottawa Life Magazine featuring three people who work with children…primarily those with autism. The challenge was to illustrate the story without  focusing on the kids. I chose the idea of a puzzle…which truly is what many of these disorders currently represents to our healthcare system.
